I started by pumping after the first morning feeding, as that's when I had the most milk. Early on what I got would vary (4-6 I believe?), but 3 ounces sounds great after your baby has already eaten! I have a double pump and do about 10 minutes total, which for me is pretty average even at this point (10.5 months PP). I highly recommend you keep up pumping once a day if you want to build up a freezer stash, and also to get your son used to a bottle. I am so glad I pumped this whole time, as my son has taken bottles from anyone who has cared for him, and I've been able to work, exercise, have dates with my husband, etc. Best wishes as you start your pumping journey!
